Nathaniel Bellows was born in Boston, Massachusetts and attended Middlebury College and Columbia University. He is the author of a novel, On This Day, a collection of poems, Why Speak?, and numerous short stories and poems. He has just finished a new novel, The Unwelcome, a ghost story set on a coastal island in Maine, and is working on a collection of linked short stories called Nan. He also works in the fields of visual arts and music and lives in New York City.
