The combination of the lyrics, the music, and the art; Bellows’ and Nova’s emotion laden voices; the impressive history that both of these artists have, as champions of the creative human spirit. This song is about as effecting a song as you can hear (and something that I hope MANY people will hear). The acoustic guitar that Bellows plays is simple but expertly played.
As a poet, it is no surprise that Bellows fills the page, in a five plus minute song, with deep and constructive verse. One addendum is added to another, until the listener feels both held and encouraged out of their hurt into meaningful activity. As a writer myself, my mantra has always been “every drop adds up to an overflowing cup,” and Bellows and Nova echo that in this song, that urges the listener to put one foot in front of another, in faith that things (as hard as they are) will work out in the end.
